Baton Rouge Organizing Meeting #5

Our Baton Rouge Organizing meeting is at the Carver Branch Library on January 31st, at 3-5pm.

The Agenda

1.Schedule and plan our first panel discussion and workshop. Preferably on coalition building and how to be a good and effective ally.

2. Collect descriptions of assumed responsibilities (See post below for details).

3. Decided when to reschedule the July 4th meeting. It is a major holiday and the Library will be closed. So we need to discuss what we will do with respect to that weekend.

Here is a message from our Executive Director, Shamaka Shumake on the upcoming Baton Rouge Organizing Meeting:

“As we move forward we need everyone to clearly define what role they wish to have in BRO. For instance on might be willing to post to twitter once a day in the evening. Or one might be willing to distribute flyers in the street 2 hours a week on a Tuesday afternoon.

Please be as specific as possible about the type, level, and frequency of responsibility you would like to assume. We need this so that as we continue to work with other organizations and events we can deliver on what we are promising.

Please have that information ready for the next meeting. If you are unable to attend the next meeting please email your description to BRO @ or message the page by The Friday (Jan 30th) before the meeting. Thank you for all of the hard work you are doing to promote justice and progress in Baton Rouge.”

See you then!
